This is from the east end of the Island mariolyn where NASA had their tracking station. Clearwater Beach is here right at the end of the runway.

So where are you taking this from? A power boat? Your dock?

Thank you gma, Celeste, Hanne, PK, yellow and JB. Yes we were born on a special Island and storms are part of our history. You can see the power generated by a hurricane yellow when it can cause surf up to 1000 miles away!

Your luck will hold, Robbie and all will be well again. These colors and photos are wonderful! You live on a beautiful island with so much to be happy for. I am so glad you weathered this storm!!

We're so glad you decided to remain cautious, I'm still thinking this looks quite rough. (al least it would be for me!) The latest I heard is that you'll be spared the worst of Leslie . . .up here it is grey &very window, they say it's the remnants of the storm can you believe it? Rain & thunderstorms through the night, geesh !!

Hi PG, yes looking much better now, the other one is Michael and yes that has gone north. I just logged in to the Hurricane site and there is a large disturbance coming off the African coast. Here we go again!

A lovely day at the water. I think this one is going to pass well East of you with any luck and the next one is headed due North and should miss you also.

This does not look bad at all. Jenny and I took dozens of pictures and couldn't capture the size of the swells and surf. That is Gurnet Rock in the distance to the left. We go out about 1/2 mile to the left and set the shell traps. Not for a few days yet, let the storm pass on sunday. See the high splash of surf in the distance on the right of the picture? That is the Island I was trying to get to in my dinghy. The water is still beautiful out here.
