The severe, crazy winter we've had hasn't helped. Temps here have gone back and forth from 10 degree lows to over 80, like today. Tomorrow AM is expected to be in the mid to low thirties.

I neglected to mention that I've lost the fish that were in this pond. Watched blue herons, turtles and buzzards get the last of them.

Yes, it is...livestock, too. When sprinklers are working around my house, birds and other creatures come and just dance through the mist. I have to keep the area around my foundation watered since I've experienced some cracking and shifting. The soil here expands and contracts rather severely in response to conditions. I do believe we are experiencing man-made climate change.

OH dear, I'm afraid you've crossed over from pond to mud puddle! Wildlife is surely struggling in your area...

I'm not sure! Can't remember what happened here during the last one. Have to do some searching. The most important season for heavy rainfall here is spring. Summers are usually hot and dry with an occasional T-storm, if we're lucky.

If it is an El Nino summer as they are predicting, will that bring more rain to Texas?

classof54gal

I'm about 45 minutes north of Dallas, Texas. Dallas, and south of Dallas, has had more rain than I've had. It's sad to see. Those of us in rural areas see the results of drought more than people in cities. They water their lawns. I can't do that.

Where is this? (city/state)
