The old Nidaros Dome is so huuge that it's impossible to photograps it in one picture if you want to see some of the details. You've got to go so far away that you see nothing. Nidaros is the original name of Trondheim from the early Middle Ages and the Viking area. This church was built to honour the Norwegian king Olav who christened Norway. He is now a saint!

But, are church services held? Or has it turned into a tourist site?

If you go down in Europe you'll find big domes in the same style i.e. they were there first, this one came later. They are so awfully impressive really!! Thanks so very much Jo!!

Thanks so very much Ardy!! It's an incredible experience to stand before it!!
