Thanks Jim. I'm glad you noted my correction. Yes, it's high enough. And they tell me, if you walk over it you can see through the metal grid to the water below. Shudder!!!
I am glad you cleared up the heighth problem, Cathy. I just thought that some REALLY tall ships go under the bridge. Of course, 61 meters is still REALLY high!
Hi Carol. No, I have never felt it sway either.
I will have to check wikipedia also........at one time I could remember how many feet it swings in each direction during stormy weather......it was a scary statistic but I don't remember everfeeling the motion when crossing, :)
Thanks Jim. I just checked wikipedia and here are the official measurements:Length 1823 metres or 5890 feetTower Height 111 metres or 364 feetShips clearance 61 metres or 200 feetI think Ank was asking about ship's clearance and I should have answered 61 metres. I'm sorry. The Lynn Valley Suspension bridge is 60 metres high ... so about the same height.
Nice photo, Cathy! Now that is a high bridge!
Thank you Ank. Yes, the sky was very dramatic that day! The bridge is 111 metres high.Thank you Lorna!!
