I remember my Mum saying it was shame I had to be married in order to have children, and since at that time I showed no signs of getting married (I was only 26 when I did!) she wanted me to consider having a child before getting married!!! I'm don't know if she thought I could go and buy an AI kit from a chemist or something!! Every time I went anywhere she would ring me to ask me "Did you meet anyone nice?" It drove me mad!!! I will never do that to my girls! Im glad you've got one grandson living close, that must be lovely for you :~)
I never pushed them, either, especially since the first grandchild appeared only a year and a half after the first marriage--I wasn't about to suggest a different order of events! I had all 3 before I reached 31, so I figured I'd be a young grandma, too..... Ah, well, better late than never, for sure! :-))) And one lives just 3 miles away, but the other is all the way across the country, in California. That isn't so good--we've only seen him a couple of times......
Pat, I don't want to be like my Mum who was always on at me to produce grandchildren for her, and she had to wait a long time... but she was 41 when she had me!! I was still in my 20s when I had my first child. My oldest is nearly the age I was when I had her... and no sign of grandchildren!! I hope I don't have to wait until she's 39... I might not still be around myself! I bet you are over the moon having them now, and I hope they live close enough that you get regular contact with them both :~)
They were born in early September and late October of 2011--when my two children (mom of the first, dad of the second) were already 39 and 41, and my youngest was 34, so it was a loooooooong wait for me for the next generation! :-)))
Well, Pat, now that makes complete sense!! Your grandsons are much closer together in age and younger than I realised, I had a feeling one was much older... I don't know why!! You wouldn't want such tiny tots let loose in a bigger pool just yet :~)
Well, my grandsons are 16 and 18 months old, so together they weigh less than my bigger dog alone! And my dogs have to share, so of course they get the bigger one! I mean, fair's fair, right?! LOL!
Gee, thanks Pat - that's a much better title!!! I pondered and I pondered on what to call this... I'm going to add wading pools into the title..... yipee!! I'm amused that the dogs get the bigger one!!! LOL!!
OOOH, a nice big stack of graduated sizes of wading pools! I'll take 3--one each of the little ones for my 2 grandsons, and a bigger one for my 2 dogs! Thanks, Mandy! :-)))
Thanks whatnauts, it's good to hear you had fun splashing around.... I hope it wasn't too cold!!
It was great fun splashing around in these waves. Thanks so much :))))
