This morning I took lots of bird-photo`s again, mostly waterfowl. I will be posting them over the next few days :))))

This is a new world for me.......all I knew was that it was a dove. Always something new opening up to look into! Thanks, Schutkleur.

Bij mijn puzzels staat ook mijn vraag en jouw antwoord:)))) Goofie vond het vanmorgen wel lekker om buiten te zijn, maar hij had het weer eens aan de stok met Luna van hiernaast. Hij hing ineens weer aan de schutting en toen heb ik hem voor straf naar binnen gestuurd:))) Maar later is hij nog even met mijn zoon naar buiten geweest (peukie roken) en vond er toen niks meer aan. Hij heeft zijn schaaltje Gourmet leeggelikt en is toen naar bovengegaan, waar hij trouwens nog steeds ligt!!!

And yes I am British but my wife is Dutch. Frank and Anneke hence 'franneke'.
Birds are my passion and to discover something new is wonderful. Thankyou.

This is a turkish turtle dove (streptopelia decaocto). The dove you posted is a turtle dove too, but is is streptopelia turtur :))
On google I have been searching for the collared dove, looks to me that you are calling the bird that we call turkish turtle collared dove, they look exactly the same!! Are you British??
By the way : your name (Franneke) sounds VERY dutch!! How come??

Dank je Impie. Ja, dat is met veel dingen : pas als je er goed naar gaat kijken zie je hoe ze er echt uitzien. Maar ik ben het met je eens, van op een afstandje lijken ze voornamelijk grijzig. Maar jij hebt ze toch ook vaak in de tuin en redelijk dichtbij??? :)))
Goofie vindt het ook geen fijn weer om naar buiten te gaan??

Sorry to tell you but this is not a turtle dove , it is a collared dove.
Please try to find my later puzzle of a turtle dove and you will see the difference.

Mooie foto. Dacht altijd dat turkse tortels merendeels grijs waren. Zie nu pas dat hij goud/bruinig is. Ik vind ze grappig. Wij hadden tijdens een vakantie op Lanzarote ook regelmatig bezoek van een tortel, ik ga de foto opzoeken en plaatsen. Van Goofie kan ik nu toch geen foto's maken, hij ligt achter het gordijn op zolder heerlijk uit te buiken:)))
