THANKS littlebuttercup .. I looked it up & that is, indeed, it's real name, also known as Desert Cardinal. That would explain why it is sitting on cactus. lol

It is a pyrrhuloxia. (Hope I've spelled that right.) Don't know which gender. They are desert birds.
