If it is noisy you could hear them coming... right... but this is very colorful and unique.

I know of two places that have this kind of staircase...one inside and one outside. They really make a racket when a person uses them...but it is very sturdy and has an hand rail. A fireman's pole would be quiet, but it would be a long pull to go up!
