I think they must have quit doing that. Too bad as it sounds fun. I don't think the scouts have the support or the money they use to have. Too bad as I think it is a great learning experience for kids.

Lyndee, back in the 60's-70's the girl guide and boyscout movement was very big and I didn't know anyone that wasn't a guide or scout but unfortunately things have changed now. In fact the scout hall was in our street so us kids didn't have far to go for our meetings. All the local kids in our area belonged to the movement and our parents were involved in some shape or form as well.

A Jamboree was when all the scouts and guides from all over the World would join together as a group. Their camp was like a mini city - tents everywhere!! Boy, was it fun to meet kids from different countries, it was a wonderful time back then...

A jamboree? Now that's a word I'm not sure my grandsons could relate to! I'll have to toss that one at them some day!

.....chasing all the girl guides. Well that's what we did when we all got together at Jamborees!!!

Two of my grandsons were scouts and I'm wondering what are they resting from??? Just wondering.
