Yes, Susie. The Carthage Tigers are the high school football team. Carthage is just east of Joplin. The first major civil war battle was fought there.

Ours in Litchfield, IL looks very much the same.
If the buildings had a date on them it was usually from 1890 to 1910. And Chickie, there must be hundreds of squares throughout the midwest and I bet most are picturesque!
These so remind me of the buildings in the squares in Southern Illinois.
Notice how all the buildings are butted up against each other? Great for use where the space is tight but terrible when there's a fire!
