These are lovely, the color is so good. We had some rain last week and all our azaleas are gone. Seems like it was a very quick season this year. Now I'm waiting for my crepe myrtle. It is just getting it's first bit of greenery.
Actually aj it is a worldwide problem. I googled bees quite a while ago and they have been devastated by a certain virus and parasites largely in North America and Europe. There seem to be different opinions and different percentages declining. I believe in certain parts of Europe they have lost more than 50% of colonies. In Bermuda I believe it is higher. I google a lot for information and retain very little, but I think I am close to the truth!! I know a blueberry farmer in Nova Scotia who told me a lot of farmers rent colonies of bees for pollination.
Thank YOU, Jacques, for your nice comment. And I love your bike. Had to sell mine a few years back and I still miss it.........
Elfie, they really are a pretty, bright red--so glad you like them; wish you could see them for real. Wish they would bloom year-round so I could see them every day........
Ah, Robbie, I'm still so glad to hear from you. I missed you. What happened to the bees? Are there any known reasons, or theories? How is everything being pollinated? Are they expected to make a come-back?.......
