Well, I like what you produce with this camera, JC. And I think there are many others who would agree. So just keep doing what you do, and spend the $$ instead on gas to travel to other beautiful, educational little towns that you would like to "learn us about"!! :oD
Susie, I have a Canon PowerShot A570 IS that I bought in 2007. A friend that owned some expensive cameras suggested it. It does take some great pictures.
But I'm not sure a more expensive camera would be better. I use the technique of taking lots and lots of pictures hoping that I get a good one. Such as my sunrises/sunsets pictures. I usually take 20 pictures with different settings and vary the telephoto and different angles.
Taking hawk, Canada geese, and eagle pictures are hard. And closeup pics of insects and spiders don't always come out very good. And trying to capture the clouds and moon are also hit and miss.
So, in conclusion, I would like to get a better camera but I am not sure my pictures would improve.
Is that "green atmosphere" environmental pollution from your tadpole wine factories, Lela? If so, don't you have a relative who can invent something to fix that problem?? Tsk tsk!!
-Lelebug, you probably get Sun FROGS, rather than Sun DOGS, in Bonga Bonga, no?
-SPDean, sun dogs only appear when the conditions are perfect: the sun is on the horizon, the perfect size ice crystals are in the atmosphere, and they are falling horizontally. If not, only the "halo" can be seen, not the "dogs" :oD
We get a lot of sun dogs here in the winter months generally preceding winter storms, although not always. I love seeing them but they are hard to photograph.
