Beautiful egg bread. I always called it cholla until I worked in a bakery while in High School. Then the owner made us call it egg bread.
But I am jewish and it is cholla.

Does your bread have almond paste in it Pdevredis? one of my husband's cousins has a Danish father and they have an Easter bread with Almond paste in it. It is delicious, and yes we are part of the same tribe and with the same traditions.

It's at times like Easter that we come together and share our traditions and we realise we are not so different after all. There something so good about the oness we have isn't there!

Hi Tampagirl, I wish... but no I am going to make it when Passover ends. We will have Shabbat here next week, with people from our church who also support Israel. I haven't made Challah before so will let you know how I get on.

Challah is a sweet bread, but it has a taste all of its own, it's 'Holy bread' in a way, it's made for Shabbat, and maybe other times,but I don't know about that, it's taken and dipped in salt. That might sound strange, but if you dip a small piece of your bread in salt you will be surprised at the taste.
