Yes, it is sad to see this once-vibrant home in such disrepair. The upkeep and mondernization of one of these is tremendous, and I expect someone just couldn't afford to keep the place.
Was a lovely home, so sad now, Thanks chookies.
No one would just up and leave this beautiful mansion without there being a very sad story behind it. Thanks for your comments Healer, rob and cinderfire. Good to see you.
Bet it has quite a story if it could talk. Sad to see such a once grand home end up like this.
It's definitely a has-been, but a classy has-been!!
You can tell it was beautiful, once upon a time.
It's a wonder the 'scalpers' haven't been helping themselves to everything that's not nailed down! Thanks for your comments lyndee, punkin and smllpkg.
The beauty of this is still evident in its bones.
What a grand home this was.
This had to be quite the house at one time. Sad it was left to deteriorate like this.
Although it's standing abandoned and in disrepair it's still standing there looking very proud - that was once a very large home to, I guess, a large family and makes me wonder why anyone would just walk away from it. Thanks everyone for dropping by with your comments - I always love to see you all.
Have always been fascinated by old structures, was compelled to search a few as a child which only fascinated me more. I would make up ideas of it's past and occupants, and if any scraps were left behind it was like a precious jewel to me. A story of this once lovely mansion would make me think the once wealthy occupants had to abandon it during the war between the states.
Must of been grand at one time! Sad to see it like this :-(
What a shame.
It always makes me wonder how the place must have been when it was full of light and life, and what happened to change things so.
If those pillars weren't there, it probably would be down.
