Thank you Hanne.
This is a marvellous photo, Sandy, those things together - so much beauty!! Lichens are so awfully interesting!! Thanks so very much!! Forgot to post my comment yesterday!!
Thank you shirley.
I love the colour of the lichen, and who would want to crack such a lovely rock in half? Thanks chickiemama.
Yep, they're good punners warbler.
At first I thought someone had taken a little rock saw to the red rock and cut a little sleet through the middle of it, but on enlarging I see its just a grass stem. (Man, this crowd doesn't leave much left over, pun wise!)
Thank you snooker. You are not allowed to crack this rock in half. LOL
Thank you Dottie. Suzy, every stone I have was brought here from 300 miles north. Everytime I went north for about 7 years, I collected rocks from the fields and filled the car. LOL
Am lichen this one. Didn't think you had such stones in your southern world of Illinois!
I love lichens. They grow in so many pretty and different shapes. I used to go into the woods and collect them. Made a picture frame out of some one time and still have it. They last forever! sorry...TMI! Thanks, Chickie!

Nice one, CM. We had sleet this morning, but again, I slept through it! It's 29 here. Now that's COLD for Texas!
Everyone is so punny, today. Thanks for the beautiful photo, chickie.
Are the lichens taking it for granite, chickie?
lichens can be rather pretty, do not see this much in Florida
It's amazing how intricate the forms are, Sandy. I'm lichen this! (Sorry, just came from the caption puzzles...)
I like those. Do they have a purple flower?
Thank you morris. Yes they do. These are the tiny miniature ones.
Nice one, chickie! I see that your Iris stay green all year, tu!
