Most of us did not take an R&R and saved all our money.
"Most all..."? Well, if they lasted the whole year and had a savings allotment, maybe. Many of us got sent back in medevac planes long before we had enough savings built up to buy a car.Of course, "most all" 'Nam vets were REMFS who never saw an enemy soldier and rarely even heard a gun fired. Those poor guys went through hell, what with polishing their boots and even having to make their beds every morning. Those guys made it through the whole year easy.
Thanks, elevenfan...this is a pic of a buddy with his new car..most all 'Nam vets got one on returning home.
Go Army. We're proud of you. Can't believe I was stationed at Ft. Rucker before that car was build. Way before.
