Yes, and they plant themselves all over my yard. Those seeds are teensy weensy, so you'll have to really watch it to keep from dropping them everywhere. They're so very small.
Confession: I saved all the old blooms one year and planted them thinking the seed was the little center of each flower. Nothing. No wonder. Now I know what to look for. The pictures are great. I'll be watching for pods. Thanks.
Naner, better still, here is a link that shows what they look like:http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Wild+Violet+Seed+Pod+Images&qpvt=Wild+Violet+Seed+Pod+Images&FORM=IGREHope this helps.
Hi, Naner! When the bloom is finished, they make a teensy little pod looking thing, sort of wheaty looking pods. Too tiny to pluck, so what I do is shake them over a white piece of paper, or even my hand to get the seeds out. I'll try to get a picture of the seed pods because they're in bloom now, and then I'll make a private puzzle out of it for you. They plant themselves all over the place once you get them started.
These are very pretty. You started them from seed? What part of it is the seed?
Thanks, Cel & Plumpy! These brighten my day!
So pretty!! :)

I love Violets too tex - Mum always had a big patch of dark coloured ones at our old child-hood home, & I loved picking a bunch. Thanks for the memories!!

Violets are beautiful and dependable and hardy. Keep those memorys alive Tex. Thanks.
Thank you, Mimi. My dad used to plant some in an old bucket for me, and it was so beautiful and he'd hang it right by my bedroom window by the honeysuckle he planted for me! Great memories. Glad you stopped by.
I love these tiny flowers too. They are blooming everywhere in Louisiana now too! A sure sign of Spring!
So true. Thanks, PC.
Sometimes the simplest is the most beautiful! You know what they say - less is more.
