These were the regular homes of the Native Americans by the Jamestown settlement. They were made by cutting and bending saplings and tying them together to make a framework, and these woven reed matts were attached to the outside of the framework. Cool in summer, warm in winter, and waterproof. The matts were replaced every couple of years
