Thanks Patti:)))

I'm the same as you Allie -I just usually see them in big flocks and not close enough to photograph - so I'm pleased to have them regularly visit next door!! Thanks!

Thanks Dave - I'm the same!!

warbler

I can't imagine ever getting tired of them.

alliebono

I saw many flocks of wild Galahs when I was in AU but they never came close enough to make a good photo. This one is brilliant! Lucky you to have such colourful visitors!

PLG1958

I love your colorful birds, Robyn! Thanks for sharing them with us!

robryan

Thanks Allie - they're locals now - have been coming to the feeder for a couple of years, but the Galahs are newcomers this last year!! I hope you have a Happy New Year too!!

alliebono

What a treat having these visitors robyn! I'm bookmarking yr puzzles to do later and look forward to seeing more of them! Happy New Year Robyn!

robryan

Thanks Floyd - there are four different breeds that gather, and the Crows visit occasionally!!

Ah - I don't think I could tolerate your cold Ami!!! I suppose it's what you get used to!! Thanks Ami!

themomofmll - I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier - these are Australian native birds found along the east coastal areas of the country and the coastal ranges a small way inland. They are quite widespread and are nectar eaters mainly, but will eat some seeds.

loveydear

I envy you for the beautiful birds and flowers etc., but not the heat you get! You got a extra nice photo op and you did an amazing job of capturing them. Thanks for sharing!

Gladstone

Great to see these beautiful birds.
Thanks Rob.

robryan

It is a treat Laura - and one we never get sick of!! Thanks!

laurajane

What a treat to care for such beautiful and friendly birds!

robryan

LOL!! This one's all natural Cobbscout :))) Thanks for commenting!!

Thanks Putter - so do I:)))

They only ever have a quick nip occasionally Francamia - the older birds teaching the younger ones the pecking order!!! There's never a fight though! Thanks!!

themomofmll

So beautiful! These birds are native to what area?

And that's pretty funny Cobbscout!

Francamia

They mix well........Thanks Robyn..........

PutterDutt

They're gorgeous! (I love rainbows!)

Cobbscout

"Yeah, I know, the wife used too much bleach AGAIN!"

robryan

Thanks Texasyellowrose :)))

I think so too Shirley - there's been about 1/2 a dozen Galahs around lately & they've probably been breeding - all the other birds have young ones. Thanks!

It was great to be closer to them yesterday Beekay - we usually just watch over the fence!! Jeremy took some really good photos of Galahs, Lorikeets, Noisy Miners & Crested Pigeons all happily feeding together!! I'll post a couple of them in the next few days! Thanks!

lyndee

Galah looks quite a bit larger than the Lorikeets.

Beekay

What a pleasure it would be to feed these in my yard! Wow Robyn, so much color :-)

Shian2

Looks like a young Galah, Rob, so nice to see them sharing.

You're a good neighbor - just like State Farm! :)
