Thanks, jignut and Jan. Pat, I didn't mean his private life troubled me--his marriage breaking up and his problems with the mother of his newest child. And I didn't mean all his DUI's, really, either. You're right, those I heard about only because he is a celebrity, and they can happen to anybody, but not end up public knowledge. I meant his antisemitism, and some of the answers he's given about Jews, and about their decimation in WWII, and about his father, a famous holocaust denier. He chose to make those views public, and I don't consider them "only human" mistakes that we all make. I think his ideas are cruel, almost evil, and certainly refuted by the overwhelming evidence out there.
He used to be one of my favorite actors--not one of the best, but someone I really enjoyed--in Lethal Weapon series and Mad Max series, but then I read too many articles about what he's really like and what he really believes, and it's hard to separate that knowledge from the character he plays when I see him now... A shame. But he is a handsome guy, nonetheless.
