A nice one, Dave. Well-kept and understated. I like the roofed porch.
It would be interesting to see the upper floor rooms - either they have very high ceilings with the stained glass windows as a feature or - they have fancy attic windows. Neat Dave - thanks.
Fantastic old house so great post warbler :-)))))
I'll bet it was built with a gingerbread-y front porch that was replaced at some point. Love the fan work under the gables. And I gonna' guess forsythia for the hedge. Great old house!
The three window pattern is on the side of the house, too. I have a feeling the porch posts have been replaced, though. Thanks dondi. Thanks Floyd, Mary, and Jan for stopping by and I'm happy that you liked it!
Such a grand old house - perfect for exploring!
This is a beauty,thanks Warbler.
Great design and well maintained old house. Thanks Dave.
Very nice, and pretty. A couple of interesting festures - one is that triple window on the third floor which we've seen before, but this time smaller, and in leaded glass (only a half-story, not a full third story). It's unusual to see a bay window projection as the front of the house, and here it has a wonderful wrap-around porch. Quite a nice effect - more usable porch space than you often see, which is great for socializing and enjoying the outdoors.
But its bright this day in Ames, Cathy so we can feel happy!!Thanks Laura.
Oh my, this is fabulous!
Great old house!! I love it. It doesn't look particularly spooky ... but maybe if it was a dark and stormy night ... : [ ... !!!!!
I remember that book, Tex. Pink cover with black design. Thanks roseheather, I like the detail, too!
Oh, my. so much character. I love all the detail in the wood trim and in the windows.
This made me think of that V.C. Andrews series, "Flowers in the Attic", spook books from long, long ago. What a beauty this old home is. Thanks.
Thanks Suzy, and Sandy. I believe your right, Sandy. Glad to see you have your vision back after the Great Train Run!Me too, Lyndee. It does, indeed. It does have a good look, Rob! Thanks.
Looks more like a beauty to live in:)
When you see a home that looks this well kept, it makes you really want to see the inside.
Lovely home and looks like bridal wreath around it. Thanks Dave.
