Hi Phyllis, This is the first of the Bill Gekas series that I've put together--beautiful photo! I enjoy the up close for inspection. The pears are just right; ripe for eating, now. I'm wondering how much creative photoshopping goes into one of these. It must be more than just snapping the photo. Look at the right hand, it looks too relaxed to be holding the laden basket--almost as if the basket was inserted separately. However it was created, it's a great end result. Thanks. :-)
This one for me is the best so far, in term of composition and color. I can see why anyone might mistake this for a fine, realistic painting when you look at the pears, for example. The way Gekas captures them on the burgundy table cloth really brings out that aspect of this photo. Wow! I can see why you chose to put these up Phyllis! Thanks!!
I've just realised that he is a photographer and not a painter. Even so, there must have been a certain amount of posing to be done with that heavy basket! Stunning.
