It must be regional. There were similarly decorated trucks and busses in India and Nepal.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one KRT and WILLEY19LIVE. Certainly very colourful and I too wondered about the possibility of tipping over. They would not work here in Southern Alberta where we get some very strong winds and at times the big semi's get blown over.
Through out S. E. Asia, the Orient & the Phillipines you see the same thing only they don't build them quite as high.. Their Busses are just as coloful. You certainly would'nt want to get caught in a cross wind in one of these. Reminds me of shortly after WW2, I was on Guam & the Phillipines, & the abandoned US Jeeps were all dolled up & used as taxis. We referred to them as "Jeepnese".
The interiors are just as elaborate.....true works of art. Very top-heavy and yet they still go over the Khyber Pass.
