My daughter brought that one home...I read it with one eye closed...and shoulders hunched...
Dang this habit of sharing what the kids read...started in childhood to "vet" what they were reading (you know, the old "let's discuss") and now I find myself reading some books that I'd never thought that I'd pick up! LOL
Serial killers are ok escapism too...depending on the mood. btw: In that vein, have you ever read John Douglas' books? Real serial killers...hard to read about and understand people like that...
Oh, my dear girl, you must go back to your childhood and read the books! Pretend that you are a young girl when you read them and just overlook allegory, if it's not to your taste. Forget movies...imagination soars in books of this type. Same with the Shire and Rivendell ...
I know naught of Narnia. It is in books and movies and there is something about a lion, a witch and a wardrobe. That is my totality of knowledge. I have nothing against it. I just don't know it like Hobbiton. But, somebody, I won't say who, appears to really love Narnia........ :D)))
