Thanks Gladstone, Sunnybarb, Gracie.......and Brie.
Beautiful - I think iron / ferrous oxide will give you the rust colour and copper would give you tints of green
Great shot Lyndee! but I am staying out!
Wow! That's colorful!
Interesting rock formations. Excitement.
I love caves and this is delightful. Thanks for finding it for us Lyndee.
Yes loveydear. It's the ground water seeping out of the rocks.Suzy, the color comes from the minerals carried in solution in the ground water seeping through the sandstone. One of those minerals may be copper but I don't really know.No lamp BK. I didn't go very far into the cave as you are on your own and I don't know much about caves. I didn't go far enough in to see any bats!Snooker, the temp didn't drop much but then again, you don't go down when you go in. It look like you could climb up on some rocks but that would be insane!!!
The temperature is dropping ....
Do you have a head lamp on?.. is it going to get really dark in here? are there bats in here....
Is the orange color from copper in the rock?
The walls are shiny, are they wet?
