It is a sight to behold, Susie and Cevas! Yesterday, Sue,myself and 3 other tourists were walking around talking pictures. The others had really expensive cameras and probably knew how to use them.
There wasn't much going on that time of day. (The clock works.) A lot of people were setting up stuff for the weekend and a huge tent arrived as we left. This weekend is the end of this years' festival. We won't be there, which is good--I don't care much for crowds.
Yes, it does look like we are in Europe! A maple leaf festival ! It sounds great. So glad you and Sue are there to cover it for us!
That's because it's so lovely and elegant, and looks like it was picked up in Europe, transported across the pond, and dropped down in Missouri! Nice pic, JC, and thanks for sharing the story :o)
I read that this is the second most photographed building in Missouri!
Carthage is called the maple leaf city. And right now it is difficult to walk anywhere without crunching on maple leaves!
The 46th annual Maple Leaf Festival is currently in full swing ending on Oct. 21st. Eighty thousand people are expected to attend!
