Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I made these kaleidoscopes from freely available images of Slinkies. Remember Slinkies? I never had one when I was a kid, but boy !! Did I covet my friend's ones!

This is what they looked like when I was a kid:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slinky

But now they are made from plastic and come in amazing colours!!

I use a variety of programs to make my kaleidoscopes, recolour the backgrounds and assemble them into a collage. Each 3x3 collage takes around 2 hours to make.

It gives me immense pleasure making them, and I hope it gives you pleasure solving them. :-)

Kirsten, this was so much fun. I've got several of your big puzzles in bookmarks. I should have been working on my road trip pictures but tonight is bell choir rehearsal night and with three people away or sick I cancelled rehearsal. I decided to use this unexpected time to play with one of your puzzles. I had a slinky - one of the old metal ones. Loved playing with it on the stairs. Thanks for the memories and for the fun. You are so special. ((HUGS))

It was serendipity Anne! I was looking for the metal slinkies to do a funny take on this weeks "spring" theme, and stumbled on these ones. I'm glad you enjoyed them. :)))

And we BOTH had deprived childhoods. LOL

Whatever will you come up with next Kirsten? These were a great idea - beautiful colours and patterns evolved. Top left does it for me today followed by centre. Thanks a heap. Hey I didn't have a slinky either - bit later than me I think or at least in our area!

Gosh Gwen -you play with the big 'uns too? You must love a challenge. :))) , And I love how this one turned out as well. Which was a complete surprise! If you have a look at the 81 piecer, you'll see that I was planning on making kaleidos out of the metal slinkies, not even being aware that there were these plastic rainbow ones. BONUS!! 'Cos they made terrific kaleidos. I'm glad you think so too. :)))

The plastic Slinkies do make great patterns for the kaleidos. This puzzle really works. All your effort in their creation is appreciated. Thank you.

I still have my old metal Slinkie from when I was a kid. Last I checked it still works. Those things are indestructible.

Me too Gail! And I was just saying to Mariasha over on the 81 piecer that the metal ones were definitely better, but the rainbow plastic ones made great kaleidos!! I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. :)))

I loved Slinkies! My favorites are the bottom center, the very center and the top right. Those plastic ones are pretty, but they break. Sad.
