All pressure vessels have oval doors that are usually domed out in the direction of positive pressure so that the pressure pushing on the door pushes equally all away around on the seal.

Dove a WWll Japanese sub at Guadalcanal a number of years ago. The side was torn open and we could swim the length of it. Wiring was even still there.
