Does anyone know what size or ratio to make an image so that the black 'letter boxes' disappear in the second thumbnail please?

Personally I prefer the smaller pieces. I always wondered why some puzzles had what seemed to be much bigger pieces. Thanks for a little insight.

The same puzzle, of 221 pieces, is here. This image is 1030 x 750 px, the other 1600 x 1200 px which appears to give larger pieces. Obvious perhaps.
