The Weighbridge Inn, Gloucestershire
The pub dates from the 17th Century, when the present day foot and bridle path was a major packhorse trail. It gets its name from the weighbridge used by the local woolen mills for which the inn keeper was responsible, as well as collecting road tolls. Old farming implements, tools, carriage lamps and keys adorn the inside, where huge log fires give a warm welcome. It also happens to serve fabulous food, and is my favourite pub!
