To Willey19 - I've experienced just what you described. In 1956 I was driving home with a friend on Long Beach Blvd from Long Beach, Calif in my 1938 Chevy Master Deluxe coupe when I ran into the thickest fog bank I have ever seen. You could just barely make out the white line on the road about 5 feet in front of the car so my friend got out and sat on the LF fender while directing me how to stay in the lane at about 2 MPH. After about a mile of this the fog suddenly ended and you could see stars above. What a memorable ride! Thanks for bringing back a cool memory.
Definitly a '38 Chev. 2 dr. It was great fun to ride on the front fenders, your feet on the bumper & hanging onto the head lite, at low speed & uncongested traffic.
