My dad's shell collection in Bermuda.
This is only a small portion of dad's collection. He donated the major portion of larger shells you see here to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute and they in turn provided this room for the display. Dad is 87 and started collecting when he was 11. When the US decided to build an air force base on Bermuda, dad got friendly with the dredging captains and started finding many more types of shells as they were dug up. The dredgers were brought in to dig sand out of the Castle Harbour to build the runways and facilities. Eventually after coming back to Bermuda from WWII, he started diving and collecting seriously.
