Yes, the incubator is packed away now for this year and they are in a plastic bin. I tried taking a picture through it but it didn't turn out. Tomorrow I'll take them out and get a new photo.

flkatz

You always know what to do, and we'll be looking forward to the picture. Edie, are these 2 the last 2 that hatched? I *think* so??

2dogs7cats

Thanks flkatz and PJ. These two are now out of the little incubator and into a bigger box with a heat lamp above it. It gives them more room to move about and I can leave bigger food and water dishes in there with them. Will try and get a picture soon.

puzzlejan

Oh dear - so cute, the little one looks so fragile, and I'm glad the are signs of it's getter better,
PJ

flkatz

Great news. :)

2dogs7cats

Thanks everyone. They are both up and walking, well sort of. The older one has his brace off and the younger one has one on. I'll post an update on them later.

flkatz

Hope they're doing wonderfully this morning Edie. So precious!

SMor2Ditto

Life is amazing... In just hours they're up and ready to take on the world.... Go little Chickie.... 。◕‿◕。 。◕‿◕。

octomom

Dr. Edie Ortho to the rescue...

flkatz

Boy Jiggy, that's so true, isn't it, especially in these little guys lives, and thanks again Edie!

JiggyBelle

Such a difference a day makes! :))

2dogs7cats

Well the best thing about it is that they're quiet Kathy. The two singletons before them peeped non stop and for that reason I was quick to put them outside. I'll decide tomorrow what to do with these two.

2dogs7cats

Yes, even now as I'm looking at him I can see changes again Lorna.

2dogs7cats

Well he's up and wobbling Ardy, but it's a start. Glad that you enjoy the updates.

katwoody99

Awww! I love how it's looking up at the bigger chick!!

goingsilver

Great to see their progress Edie. Thank you.

ringleader

S/He's up and almost running, Edie. I hope he'll be OK. Really cute. Amazing the difference of what about 48 hours makes in their size. Thanks. I love the chicken updates.

2dogs7cats

Yes, I might be your brother, or maybe your sister. Hurry up and get on your feet so we can go find us a family. Thanks Ank.

puzzeljac

Awww, he is looking so much better now. A sweety☺
Are you my big brother? Where is mom?
Love it.

2dogs7cats

Yes jyl, it's looking good for this one. Like I said from the four that I helped out of the eggs he was in the best condition. I tape if their legs are too far apart and toes pointing out to the side. Sometime taping for just 12 hours will right them. The earlier you tape the shorter the time that it needs to be left on.

2dogs7cats

Yes it is Barb. He's not quite there yet with his balance but hopefully he'll be ok without having his legs taped. I'm so happy there's two of them as well. I won't feel the need to rush them outside as I did with the first two who were all alone.

jyl

All right!! Looks like another survivor. Congrats, we hope.

If you have to go into orthopedics, when do you tape legs, Edie?

tigress

Amazing how different they look in such a very short period of time. The little one is looking much better ... nice they have each other for company at the moment. Thanks, Edie! :-)
