I figured you did. I also see why you made that connection on my puzzle!! I love the Messiah, too, and have sung in many parts of it many times. It's fun to read your memories!!

Yes, I do know that. : )

I used it, sort of, one year when I posted my nativity at Christmas time. I think I said "they aren't safely grazing!" but I'm not sure it was clear enough unless someone went into the puzzle, where I explained that the sheep were in a precarious position and would not necessarily be safely grazing. And I don't recall if I mentioned it was from Bach, though I was referring to that music.

We used to listen to Boston Pops on Sundays afternoons - on the radio, when we were having dinner when our children were young. I also remember listening to Handel's Messiah, and daughter was excited to recognize the words "crooked road straight" or "the rough road smooth" in some literature in a high school class. She had remembered it from listening to the Messiah. : ) I don't remember if that was also performed by the Boston Pops.

That sounds like a wonderful way to display your Nativity set. (I looked up your puzzle for it -- it's beautiful). I love those Fontanini sets. My sister has a large-figured one, complete with small campfire and all kinds of extra elements. I guess sheep DO tend to go astray.

The title of my puzzle, as you most likely know, comes from Bach.

What a pastoral scene. Lovely. You title brought a smile to my face.

The sheep in my nativity set don't always "safely graze" when I put the set out in December - I put the sheep along the top edge of the bookcase and they sometimes take a dive. ; ) Fortunately it is a Fontanini set and they are never the worse for wear. That edge is only about an inch wide and the top of the book case is down behind that ledge - sort of like those faux fronts on older store buildings. I put the manger on an old round wooden cheese box to elevate it up out of the depression in that space. http://www.jigidi.com/created.php?id=5VX4F7G5
