octomom

They've trained you well...

2dogs7cats

That won't work Gail, they'll be on top of the snow and I'll still be sinking. I'm the one who needs the snow shoes :-)))

octomom

If you put snowshoes on them, Edie, they could blaze a path for you.

2dogs7cats

They're half Newfie, they'd better like the snow Gail. They're laying in it right now as I look out the window. They have beds on the porch they could use if they wanted to.

octomom

Funny how they don't mind the snow. Can't imagine these big dogs making snow angels....

2dogs7cats

Thanks Gail. For once my camera worked when I wanted it to. They were weighed last May and each was between 120-125 lbs. I'm guessing that they're closer to 130 now since I tend to feed a little more in the winter and let them get a layer of fat for insulation. It must work because they're often laying out in the snow instead of on their beds.

Six dogs is a lot Wendy but then again I had 22 at one time while I was breeding Doberman and Minature Schnauzers. That did include two litters of pups. Glad it brought back some good memories :-))))

2dogs7cats

That we did cinderfire and we'll go again today :-))

octomom

I think some ski poles would have come in handy for Luke and Cole, Edie. God, these dogs are so large they'd have my cats for breakfast. How much do they weigh? Nice set of photos today.

ZZZZ2

Oh, Edie, this brings back memories for me! When I was young we had 6 dogs, and Cole actually looks like one of them, but only from the back end. LOL Anyway, we had a lot of property and lots of snow. This scene takes me right back to that time in my life. I really love this one. :-)))))))

cinderfire

Yup, lots of snow to frolic in. Hope you all had a good walk.

2dogs7cats

It's not that deep everywhere Nicky just where it's drifted. The dogs like to walk behind me for the most part and wait for me to make a path for them. They come back here on their own several times a day. There's were the only footprints I could see.

2dogs7cats

The first year and a half after I got the dogs I would walk them 3x a day Florrie and I lost between 10-15 lbs and had good stamina. Then last January something else took over my spare time. Now they're lucky if they get 1 walk a day usually none and I've regained all of that weight and then some. Jigidi is fun but it does not improve your health :-)))

niccolino59

That snow sure looks deep, Edie, but the dogs don't seem bothered by it - I guess they're good and used to it by now!

2dogs7cats

Walking up this little incline there was one spot where the snow had drifted and was over my knees. Glad I had my boots tied up. Scott just came by about half an hour ago to pick up firewood and their cats. Yeah! The guy fixing the furnace at one of the rental properties had to go back to the shop for a part so Scott took the opportunity to come here. Costco first thing tomorrow morning but no market since it's only open Thursday and Saturday.

ringleader

They are not breaking a real good trail for you, Edie. But you get more exercise this way. ☺ I haven't been in snow like this for several years. And I'm thankful!! Thanks, Edie. Did Scott come today?

2dogs7cats

They're both snoring away on their beds at the front door Ank. No nap for me, just an early bedtime. Thanks :-)))

2dogs7cats

I don't think these two know much else PutterDutt. All they ever seem to do is have fun.

2dogs7cats

I think they always sleep well Jana. Hopefully I will too :-)))

2dogs7cats

Nevermind them Barb. I'm the one who needs the snowshoes :-))

puzzeljac

Then it's time for a nap friend, also for you:-)))

PutterDutt

I'm enjoying your series today. I love seeing dogs just having fun!!

Janazlouky

I think they will sleep well , thanks Edie , I love your dogs :-)) hugs

tigress

Have you thought of getting Luke and Cole snowshoes? LOL!!! Looks so crisp and lovely, Edie. Thanks for sharing. :-)
