Thanks for the wise advice Diane. I usually paint with acrylics and as you do with oils it's a reversal of order. The WC teacher said this week that learning WC is a little like eating an elephant. I looked at her oddly and she smiled and said do it one mouthful at a time :) Chrissie

foxymoron - I do a little watercolor - it is very hard for me. With oil paint you paint the darkest areas first - watercolor, you paint the darkest areas last. So it requires a reversal of my normal thinking, right off the bat. Stick with it - very rewarding, and it's worth learning the basics before you try to paint a masterpiece. Diane

Diane, you are a very talented artist. Here I am fresh from my second watercolour class this morning, feeling a little discouraged as it's a difficult medium to learn, and I come home to find inspiration from your art. I will persist even though watercolour is so jolly hard to learn!

ditto. thanks.

captures the Burano spirit and really brings it to life, nice to see original art

This is a wonderful painting Diane, you are so skilfull in communicating the feeling and atmosphere of the scene. The movement and dancing, shining light on the water is especially lovely.

cool

This painting is from a picture I first saw here - got permission to paint it, and enjoyed the work very much. Diane
