Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I decided to walk over to the fence to see this horse, not realizing that what looked like level snow really hid a ditch that had filled in with the snow. As I turned to come back, I fell down and had a really, really hard time getting up -- there was no purchase! I think I learned a lesson. :-)

Thoughtful comment, Rettch. Thanks!

Ah the lessons of life are so fleeting. We learn our lessons through experience, think we have them mastered, then a change in age makes all those lessons obsolete.--Dang! Selfishly, I am glad you got the picture of that great looking horse.

joyfulli

Yes, Valleystream, I suspect most of us have experienced that. I'm more aware of my limits in this area as I get older.
Thanks, Irene. The only downside was that my jeans were caked with snow, so I got wet in the car as they thawed!!
I wish I knew more about horse breeds, Canoekaw. I'm sure you're right about the horse. It sure was friendly, as was the buddy horse in the pasture. They both came over to me right away. Alas, I didn't have any treats -- I'm reluctant to give something to someone else's animal without prior permission.
That's a good suggestion, Smllpkg. I so cherish my "alone" time as I go out and about, but maybe I can compromise and take her with me some of the times, at least. Thanks.

I think you should practice the "buddy system" every time go picture hunting. I'm glad you've found someone who shares your spirit of adventure.

We are glad you are OK. Sometimes we need something like that to keep us humble. I know I do. Thank you for the horse with a blanket puzzle. Looks like he or she might be morgan with those foxy ears, high head and big chest.

Jumble

I am so pleased you had your friend with you when you took this lovely picture, and that there are no injuries.

valleystream

I know the thoughts that come to mind as you are falling. Thank goodness for a good outcome.

We are both just fine, BK. The snow was deep and cushiony.
Actually, jacki, I had such a staff in the car. I was with a friend, who didn't dare venture into the area where I was, and I finally had her toss me my staff, and that's how I got out!!! I didn't get hurt because there was nothing solid under me.
THanks, Florrie. If I'd been totally alone, it would have much more scary!!!

Nice strong healthy horse. What beautiful eyes he has! And, as usual, great photo.
I'm glad you seem to be ok. And so does the camera! Pay attention to any stray aches or strains for the next day or two, but it sounds like you're fine. One thought would be to take a staff or some kind of long stick with you so you can poke through all the white stuff to see if there's anything underneath it to stand on when meandering through uncharted territory.

Beekay

I hope both you and the camera are ok Li!
