You are a real friend ... don't hurt your ears and don't get them into Helicopter mode whatever you do ! If they really get going there is no stopping them !
Thank you lela for sending us some sunshine. We wouldn't mind some more, today we only got a little tease just before sun-set ... we take what we can get !!
Oh, Kat, I always make sure not to get that load on my head ! But no, we try not to slam the doors right now ;o) and by the back door I have to duck a little right now to get around the sliding avalanche frozen in place. I was glad to see at least some sunshine today, it's this grey in grey that gets to me. A Winter with sunshine and some cold doesn't bother me.
Whoa! Don't you live in perpetual fear that you'll get skewered some day by one of those things, Connie? After reading yours and Jim's comments, I guess you don't run around slamming the door a lot, do you? :) It's really lovely but only in pictures. I'm glad I don't have to endure that most of the winter. Take heart, my friend . . . Spring is coming soon enough! Thanks for the puzzle
Oh, no, niccolino59 ... this only happens when it is not that cold. Then the snow/ice is sliding off the roof and makes for interesting 'curtains' in front of the windows.
You've got it, Jim ... our roof is metal, too. While we have some 'avalanches' coming down pretty quick after it gets mild, other spots do take longer and freeze and re-freeze as you say. Our garage is the 'dark' place right now because the snow is hanging over the windows !! :o))) It does sound like a freight train at times when the snow/ice comes down ! And yes, lela, it is not very pretty here right now, grey in grey and I really need to see some sunshine !!!
Yes, Jim with all the snow we've got and the mild weather afterwards we have tons of icicles and not only hanging downward but also sideways. I'm not sure if the breeze pushes the water sideways and then freezes it or how they 'grow' sideways. And you are right, our power-lines come from the pole across our driveway to our roof. That is one of the things that is driving my crazy here, every picture I want to take in Greenwood I have to consider the power-lines in the way and 'spoiling' the view ! I think a lot of countries have the power and phone-lines now underground which makes a lot more sense to me.
