Female Downey Woodpecket on Suet

I love the way these woodpeckers back down the tree, get even with the suet feeder, then hop on. Thank you Lorna, Jack, Morris, Sandy, Suzy and Celeste.

Love it, and I think the unintentional typo is actually rather apt, though I hadn't noticed it either until I read the comments!

I also have hairy woodpeckers at the suet feeder. They are similar but larger with a longer bill. Thanks PLG and lyndee!

I share your wish LJ. I hate it when I do that. But,......nice picture anyway. We seem to have a lot of downey woodpeckers this year. As long as they stay on the feeder and off my cedar siding, I'm a happy camper!
