Thanks Gene, good to see you!

I thought they did a labor of love, smllpkg. I looked and looked at the metal bird and think it may have been a hook to hang a thistle feeder ot hummingbird feeser at one time.

Your welcome Cathy! Thank you for taking a look!

I think they are the best kind, Floyd. Thanks!!

Nice work by who ever built this gem. And nice job by you, too, warbler. I love the metal work for decoration and, I guess, usefulness - as a perch.

A special find, Dave. I like the entire setting for this birdhouse. I'm glad you pointed out the piece of grass. That adds a poignancy to the scene. Thanks.

Maybe the inside bird was trying to entice the outside bird to come in for a night cap by shaking the grass blade around. You know, bird signals.

I think industrious at this point, LJ!

This is a really nice, rustic house. I am sure they are happy birds inside.

It was a fence post around the yard. I waited 5 minutes but the only thing I saw was that grass blade wiggling like it was trying to get in the house. It was about a foot long.

I guess it could detect the difference, Ami. I would guess it was a wren. Thanks.

Great birdhouse! Has a guard for the occupants.

loveydear

I wonder what kind of bird would use it when it looks like it's guarded by another bird!?!

lyndee

It was on a fence post Warbler??? Why didn't you shove your camera into the hole and start clicking???? LOL
