Yes, look at the bumper!

Dave: The hole in the bottom of the rad cover was for a crank.
You had to be careful not to have your thumb on the wrong side
in case it backfired or you could lose your thumb.
The bumper were a lot stronger then the current plastic so called bumpers.

This is probably what my Father owned in the 20s.

My dad had one looks like a 1929. Didnt change much in those days.
