Our dates were cheap--or howard was! A city girl, I was fascinated by all things farm. Corn picking, I would ride the self-loading wagon, finishing dehusking when deeded. Necessary when we picked popcorn, not so much with field corn. Just an excuse to be where he was working. Most dates were driving country roads so
