2dogs you are not too far away from the Netherlands as the crow flies. I am learning a little bit of Dutch and some of the words are like English and German. my husband remember penny candy. A whole bag you say? Jan I congrats anyone who stopped smoking and losing 30 pounds that is just super. So how do you like your new man?
Jan a big congrats to your husband for quitting. It must a have been hard to him to do that. Tell him everyone is hoping he does not get back into the habit again. Doglover, big congrats to you also. Some folks still do not care what they pay for cigs. They just as soon skip lunch or something like that. Denise, you missed a lot of good things before 1976, but you should remember a lot of PC's with hardly any memory and the beginning of cell phones. 2dog, I assume you spoke French in Canada. English is not the easier language to learn, I my self am learning a little bit of Dutch from a fellow puzzle fan who is giving me a few phrases to learn. So what did you do with your nickel? Oh by the way, your dogs are so big and cute. Funny how they go under the snow to find mice.
Don't remember this ad but sure do remember just arriving in Canada didn't speak any English and being sent to the store by my uncle at the age of six with an empty cigarette pack and .50. The cigarettes were .45 and I got to keep the nickel.
I quit about 10 years ago. One has to take out a loan today to buy a carton. And I laugh when I can remember saying I would quit when the cost reached $5.00 a carton. Ha, ha, ha!
Oh yes, just looking at this ad made me snicker. Today - not a chance of seeing that! Thanks for the smile, Jan! (p.s. my husband quit about 5 months ago)
