You are right Varda, they ARE able to make magnificent bridges now, but somehow this isn't one of them. This is just functional!! - and of course that's what was needed. The beauty is farther down the river!! Thanks so very much!!Yes, Jan, we sat there for some time and had something to eat and drink, while we enjoyed the water! Thanks so very much!!
What a wonderful river it spans!!
Many modern bridges are strictly utilitarian and humdrum, but some of the newer ones are breathtakingly beautiful in addition to being functional.
I think it's used by the locals!! It's just too narrow to the heavy traffic, but one like the old one lasts forever!! Thanks so very much Ardy!!
Beautiful waterfall, Hanne but the bridge lacks the aesthetic satisfaction that the old one gave. One can't stop progress. Is the old one usable at all? Thanks for showing both of them.
I don't think they are safer, Sandy, but they are broader!! Thanks so very much!!
You are right, they aren't as fun as the old structures, but probably safer. Very nice photo. Thanks Hanne.
