Yes... we have had snow off an on all day... even as I write... it is mixed with rain... so there is no accumulation (where I am anyway.. probably in Duluth there is).. but it means it's still 'chilly' out (as an understatement! LOL!!! ) I have enjoyed being home today, working form my computer and watching the rain/sleet/ snow rather than driving in it. I am getting so spoiled... LOL!!!! :D))

If I were to go out today I would definitely use my umbrella. I got one for my birthday: It is orangey-yellow... it has a big sunflower printed on it. The other one I have is big and has stripes all colors of the rainbow... I like colorful umbrellas because the days they are used are so GREY!!!! AND DRAB!!!! and GLOOMY!!!! The umbrella is holding onto some piece of delight in a difficult-weather day. LD)))

madpol

OH !! you and your umbrella !! LOL
By the way, is that really true? about the snow-storms ??.. you poor little thing........
LOL :D

phloxie

Sorry!!! we were dealing with snowstorms.. and snow storms.. and rain.. and did I mention the snow??? LOL!!! Coming up for air now.. :-D))) How's that for being all wet??

But I did get to use my new umbrella!!!!

Hi Phloxie, I prefer DRY reading over reading nothing at all,... :))), in other words, please, post some puzzles again !! :))))

phloxie

Here you go, Maddie: it is DRY reading.... I made this on Sumopaint. The ripe apples are the ball in brushes 1, or the ball in 3D brushes. I used between 45% and 75% opacity and flow…I change it a lot when I make a picture. I used different Blend Mode settings… I just play around with them to see what I like that day. And I seen to forget form day to day what they do so it seems I have to start from scratch every day!! LOL!!! I used the magic wand tool –and it does look like a magic wand- to separate the foreground form the background.. I don’t like having to worry about messing up the front sometimes. :D)) I don’t know if you have used this tool… you click on the edge of a shape you want to be fore ground... and then you click a little further along it… and then a blue line pops up to surround your shape. So here I had to get it to surround the 4 background shapes. Each time you add a new shape, you have to click on the plus sign in the bar above the picture… in the Selection mode… it’ s on the Right hand side… When I got done playing around with that.. I went to LunaPic and did the “Emboss”…I think it’s in Effects… Sometimes I get a lovely effect with the ‘emboss’ there, and sometimes it just dives and I have to scrape it… LOL!!! (but I don’t usually scrape it.. I go back to Sumopaint and just mess around with the appps.. I want. to see what they do. By then I don’t care if I get a good picture or not..,. I just want to see what they will DO… I want to see how far I can push it, stretch it… … I am amazed at the number of times that I get an image I like better than the one I was originally trying for. So there you have it. LOL!!! :D) Hope it makes some sense.

The plastic that I love to use; it doesn’t usually work out for me either right away... I have to do a lot of work in Adjustments… playing around with the colors.. I flip to negative many times in one drawing… and I use those color manipulators above… all the time!!! A lot of the times I don’t like what I get… but I just go with it… to see what will happen… LOL!!! You would laugh so hard if you saw what some of these looked like in process!!!
And you know what? Some of the pieces you have really liked are the ones that were a ‘failure’ that I just kept working with because I am stubborn and curious…and making drawings is a setting, or task, where that set of traits can be a good thing. LOL!!! :D))

Hi Maddie!!! I was answering you and then deleted everything accidently... so I'll write it in WORD and come back here with it. Just got done with a massage and came to check in... need to wash the sheets and have supper.... Back Later. :)

madpol

Phloxie, this is beautiful !! I love the colors and the design ..(where did you get the (over)ripe apples ??) Those plastic edges always turn out so nice in your pictures! When I try to use them, well, it's nearly always disappointing.. I'm just not good at them, I guess... But you are !!! :))

phloxie

I hope you enjoy the putting together. :) IT's kind of long for me... but I figured I would give it a try... this evening. LOL!!! Thanks for visiting. :)

really enjoy the colors in this one phloxie. looking forward to putting it together. thanks
