A little bird told me..

Hope that it's a good one! Michelle

Since I can't add song, I got this band to sing for me:

Am a bit older than you.

(Francine, I think that you're not belated but, if I understood what the little bird was saying, you're right on time.)

I never realized that that's why Mom always wanted to get my kids a new spring coat for Easter! (I probably didn't know that as a child.) Thank you for sharing that and it brings back memories of my mother too. I don't remember if hats were mandatory from the church perspective when I was young but they were from my mother's!

Belated Happy Birthday, Laura.

Michelle, remember the excuse for new clothing during Easter time? Went to church with new spring coat, shoes, and yes wore gloves. Before that, when hats were mandatory for church services, had a hat. Those were during the days when as children, we were growing out of our clothing and needed new ones.

Although I am not much of a movie person, I do love the period movies a lot. Talk about dress-up! You too...have a wonderful day.

That's why cars were taller then...to accommodate hats! Men always wore them; I never remember seeing my grandfather leave the house without his hat on (NOT a baseball cap), even just to go to the store. A different time and one, sometimes, like you, for which I wax nostalgic. I remember when I was a little girl how I was always dressed in my Sunday best to go to church: a pretty dress and hat and gloves! How much that has changed now... You have to treat yourself to an old movie to enjoy it now. (I love the clothing that Myrna Loy wears in the Thin Man series with Bill Powell...those trailing *housecoats* she wears are fancier than most dresses these days!! No one would know they were pajamas if you went shopping in those! ;-D )

I do hope that you have a wonderful day!

Aww...Michelle, this is so beautiful. Thank you ever so much! That is quite the festive hat. Actually, I wonder what it would have been like to live in a day where the attire was more formal...and elegant. Now a days, folks go shopping in their pajamas. Yikes! Thank you, chickie, Jiggy Belle and Michelle!
