Hi, You commented on a JMHoyer puzzle (cat massage) and I was curious where you live that you speak French. I saw this puzzle and it brought back a great memory. Many years ago, we took a boat tour around this rock when we were camping in the Gaspe Peninsula. We camped at Forillon National Park for a few days.

I've been to old Quebec City at least 3 times. I try to speak French but slaughter it so everyone, feeling sorry for me, speak in English. I didn't mind trying to communicate in French at all. I only wish I could have done it better.

We also have a very favorite restaurant (sadly, closed recently) in Quebec City - Le Vendome. We actually have a water color "street painting" we bought there that has Le Vendome in it. The chef at Le Vendome gave us two recipes for: escargot and poires au pernod. We still use these recipes on a regular basis. I couldn't believe the chef provided those to us when we complimented the cooking. This is one of the reasons the restaurant holds a very special place in our hearts. I'm so sorry the restaurant closed because we had every intention of visiting Quebec City once travel was possible again.

We do miss Canada and go to Campobello Island on a regular basis since we are only 1/2 hour away. Three years ago we moved to Maine from Rochester, NY and then COVID hit and really messed up - and everyone else's - our plans.

I hope your brother gets his operation soon. The virus, here in Maine, isn't too bad now so I'm hoping he'll get his surgery soon. We'd like to be able to enjoy the summer. I always envied men because they only needed to find a tree where us females had to find a bush. Now, I think I'm the lucky one - those nasty prostates cause them all kinds of grief. It will be my husbands second operation.

It's nice meeting you.
