So, Ank and I are both right, Jacques. French name and origin but long time Dutch speaker too, in your section of Belgium. My daughter's friend's sister lives in a town near the Lion's Mount, Waterloo. The sister is of Russian background but is married to a Belgian and have a lovely young family. My daughter really liked Belgium and said that if she ever got the opportunity to work there, she would take it!
I am English speaking Canadian but have taken French in school, as is mandatory in our province. My daughter was the only one of our kids who went through school in an immersion French programme so she is bilingue.
I would love to visit Belgium and if I ever do, I'll have to be sure to let you know! Thank you so much...
that's sweet of you Michelle, i live in Denderhoutem, that is east-flanders, my roots is in France, Monteni sur cresy, we are in Belgium about 40 years! when you visit Belgium let me know, you are always welcome to my house and family.
I popped into this older puzzle to offer my apologies for speaking French to you in some of the puzzle comments. I did not realize that you are Dutch speaking Belgian and I should have been more sensitive to that since I am aware of the two languages and some of the background. My daughter's friend sister lives in Belgium and my daughter has visited her home there. I assumed from your name that your background was French and I should not have done that. Please accept my apologies. I have enjoyed your visits to my puzzles and reading your comments on other sites too. Take care and be well! Michelle
