Take a local hike!
This is a "trail in progress" in our area (about 3 miles from our house). We hiked a part of it that has been completed, taking us between corn fields and railroad tracks....with hills as our view.

Many thanks to all of you for joining in the walk through the corn field! I appreciate all of your nice comments, and it's always a pleasure to have you along.

ladywil

I guess I am too late to join the hike....Maybe tomorrow :)

puzzeljac

Wow, you don't have to go to a camping, you have a great area around you. Very pretty Suzy.

SunnyBarb25

Beautiful countryside and a great choice for a hike :) Love that cornfield, Suzy :)

Lia

It reminds us that hikes don't have to be far away. Often so near, that they are neglected!!

goingsilver

Super view. Sounds like you have a bit of everything within reach of where you live Suzy. I feel pretty much the same about where I live too. Great isn't it?!

cevas

What a wonderful view!! This is a great place to hike. Thanks Suzy.

PLG1958

A great idea! And a beautiful place!

lyndee

Looks like your corn is doing good too. Good for consumers, bad for farmers.

pumpkinhead

The corn is exceptional this year, Ardy. Just had some tonight-melt in your mouth sweet!

pumpkinhead

Aw, thanks, Chookie! We do live in an extremely beautiful spot on the planet. Every time we come over the hills into the valley, we are aware that we live in a pretty nice place.
Travelling east, we can be to the Atlantic Ocean in about 5 hours time. We are only 2 hours from the Green Mountains of Vermont, and 4 hours from the White Mountains of New Hampshire. 5 hours from Maine. Yup. It's a pretty nice place.
I will have to do a "county tour" for jigidi this fall. :)

ringleader

Good looking corn, Suzy. Some of the best corn comes from up in northern NY State. Thanks.

pumpkinhead

It's a particularly good year for tasty corn on the cob, snooker!

pumpkinhead

Warbler and chookies... We about 3 hours northwest of New York City. There are mountains, rivers, wineries, valleys, lakes.
Our village is in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. If we drive an hour north, we are in the Adirondack Mountains. An hour west, we are in the Finger Lakes and wineries. :)

pumpkinhead

So it is. Morris! :)

Visions of corn on the cob!

warbler

Somehow this doesn't seem like New York as I have it in my mind. It looks like it might be the makings of another cutting of hay in front of the corn

morris186

So!!

pumpkinhead

Silly. Cuz the field isn't ours! :)

morris186

Why not?

pumpkinhead

.....cuz you can't camp in the corn field, Morris? :)
It is a pretty place, smllpkg.
Come east, oddman. You won't forget the visit!
We actually DID have corn on the grill tonight, Ginger! (But not from THIS farm!)

ikook

It's great to get away from the road! Thanks for sharing, Suzy.

cinderfire

Corn roast at Suzy's place soon. :O)))

oddio

With that view I might momentarily forget I was back east! :>)

smllpkg101

♫ Oh, what a beautiful morning. Oh, what a beautiful day.....♫

morris186

With a view like that, why drive 5 hours away to go camping?
