Puzzlepa, I don't think that they are unusual but I tend to remember them more because of the markings.

You are so right about the pin oaks ... I mowed the front yard yesterday and mine is starting to shed it's leaves. (What is left).
A strong thunderstorm roared through here two years before we moved into this house and knocked down a few trees and damaged the barn. I noticed right away after we moved in because the metal was still shiny and when the sun was just right, it would light up the inside of our house! (It was like the old movies where they would align mirrors in an old tomb and turn the dark into noon day sun.) I even joked about painting it, but the surface is now tarnished so it's not noticable now. Also, the leaves were blown off the Pin Oaks in yesterday's strong winds. Nearly all the leaves are off the trees now. Another sign of spring when the Pin Oaks lose their leaves!
Always love to see the spring calves... Wonder if they are painting the roof of the barn .. if so it is going to be pretty..
Nice pic JC - spring calves are good my Dad always used to say.See there's a big old tree stump with roots down likely from a windstorm.
